House of the Linguist

A 1930s art deco house in Mariakerke became Élise's dream house. The interior delicately balances new and old, conservatism and radicalism, contemporary intervention and old glory .... While the original wooden wall panelling was preserved throughout the house, Élise marked the poetry of the residence with bold signs of our time to highlight the beauty of the original style.

Cut mirrors, a smooth circulation, lacquer, charming stained glass windows, Armoirés and a quieting view on the magnificent garden provide the setting for a safe haven that bathes in the ever-changing light of day.
